Public Interest Fellowship Benefit

Description

Tickets: $20

The South Asian Bar Association of New York (SABANY) annually awards Public Interest Fellowships to outstanding law students who have demonstrated a commitment to public service so they may spend their summer working in the public interest sector.

On Wednesday, April 24, 2019, SABANY will host its 16th Annual Public Interest Fellowship Benefit. During this evening, the 2019 recipients are announced and awarded a fellowship.  This year, Professor Sukti Dhital will serve as the keynote speaker for the event. Professor Dhital is a human rights lawyer and serves as the Deputy Director of Robert L. Bernstein Institute for Human Rights at NYU Law.

Each fellowship is fully funded by institutional and individual contributions. The fellowship's stipend affords law students the ability to provide legal services to vulnerable communities or work in certain government agencies. The fellowship also serves as a pipeline for the next generation of South Asian public interest leaders.  SABANY invites you to further both the needs of the South Asian community and the public interest by supporting this worthwhile event.
